Problems: Nothing serious, mostly electrical niggles. But hey, Lucas parts and age are the cause! Suspension could do with a tidy up, or replacing, which is my next planned job before my dad moves to France! Info: See my little miss hap here I bought the car at the end of September 2005, after having looked for an Esprit for 6 months. I found mine at Shoreham airport, owned by the bloke with the FAA World Record for flying round the world in a helicopter in both directions.
It had been well looked after as it had been part of a collection (I believe it had been acquired as part-payment for purchase of a helicopter!), and looked absolutely mint sat in the hangar next to a Lambo Countach, pretty much in the same exceptional condition.
I've never really had any problems with my Esprit, I do have sporadic coolant loss, and the engine does burn a bit of oil, but not in huge quantities, so I guess it's just the age of the engine. I'm considering having the engine rebuilt to HC spec, just to future-proof the car and make it more reliable, after all, a classic car more often than not is a very good investment.
