CAR SHOWS
I took the Esprit to as many car shows as I could this summer, and had a wide variety of neighbouring cars.
At the British Car Day in Bronte Creek Provincial Park, I had the great pleasure to meet Brian Angus from Lotus Cars in the UK. Brian had been the Project Manager on the S4 Esprit, and it was a delight to meet him and his lovely wife. Brian is pictured here with my family, and was kind enough to have autographed the picture of my Esprit in front of the covered bridge. This picture happily was also chosen for the LEW 2008 Calendar (see early image).
I did two long runs in the Esprit this fall. The first was down to a picnic and run from Grand Island, New York down to Watkins Glen. We met with some LOONY (Lotus Owners of New York) and LEO (Lotus Enthusiasts Organization of New Jersey) who were spectacular to hang out with. The trip finished with 1 lap around the old road course, then 3 laps around the actual Glen track, followed by a great dinner together before heading home. I estimate that we drove 9 hours in the Esprit that Day.
The second trip was our club's fall run. I am a member of the Lotus Club Canada. (www.lotuscarclub.ca) We did a spirited run around the great back roads of Ontario. Along the way, we stopped for a tour of a small brewery and had lunch in a quaint little pub.
