Stoneleigh 2007 Parts Fair
4th November 2007

Lotus Esprit World attended the Club Lotus Parts Fair at Stoneleigh for the fifth year running. We made the 9.30am meeting point at the Porridge Pot Public House in Warwick, which is only a few miles from Stoneleigh Park where the Parts Fair is held.

On arrival at the carpark, there was already plenty of Esprit parked up. We also had some of the Elan club join in, as you can see from some of the pictures. Didn't get a chance to count, but there looked to be 30+ Esprits.

Most interest was reserved for Hilly, who's managed to put an Audi V8 into his S3. Very impressive conversion that was latter joined by the Jaguar V6 conversion. More can be found out about these cars on the LEF forum.

It was soon time to convoy to Stoneleigh. Quite a sight as Esprit's and Elan's poured towards the exit and filled up the round-about and motorway on route.

Arriving at Stoneleigh for the Parts Fair the Esprit parking was again well organised by Paul C. As you can see we ended up with a shed full of Esprits. Lovely.

Inside the Parts Fair

The admission fee of £6 was fairly resonable and the queue were gone by the time the Esprit convoy arrived. Inside the show was very busy for the first 2 or 3 hours, with plenty of bargain hunters.

On short notice LEF managed to get the LEF/LEW stand up and running, so we had a base for the day. Great work by Bibs and Laura as usual. Plenty of LEF member had met up the day before for a meal and drinks and stayed over in a local hotel. Sounded like a great night was had by all.

All the usual suspects were there, including SWLC, PNM, Paul Matty, Christopher Neil. The Parts Fair doesn't really changed much year to year. So if you been once, you know what to expect. But it's more about meeting up with all the other owners. Esprit owners treat it more as a social event. If you didn't go this year, come next year and meet up with all the other Esprit owners.

It was great to see all the usual faces of the Esprit community and meet some new ones. It's also good to catch up with many of the independents, who without their hard work our cars wouldn't be on the road.

As you can see, we were one of the last to leave! A once full shed of Esprits and all that's left is LEW's SE, that is until next year.
